The Building Process

Ridgeview Family,
Six years ago God gave me a Scripture for Ridgeview Church, “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Phil. 1:6). I am very blessed and excited, as I know you are, to see what God has done, is doing, and will do in fulfilling that promise.
God has blessed and expanded Ridgeview Church over these past 6 years in some incredible ways. Our Children’s and Youth Ministries combined have grown from 15 children and youth to more than 200. The overall number of active people at Ridgeview has grown from 75 to well over 500. Church ministry is not about numbers, but numbers point to fruit and fruit points to the activity of God (John 15:1-8). Your faithfulness in prayer, service, and financial giving has been used by God to produce much fruit in this community and throughout the world. God has been actively saving souls, transforming lives, and building His body at Ridgeview.
In all this fruit being produced, we are coming to a point of needing some “bigger baskets” to hold it! As many of you know there are many times when our children’s classrooms are “busting at the seams” and every available space is full or overflowing with children’s, youth, and adult ministry. In addition, we are desperately in need of more space for fellowship. After more than 2 years of earnest prayer and seeking the Lord, the leadership of Ridgeview Church feels a clear direction from the Lord that, “Now Is The Time” to move forward on a building expansion project.
This project will add approximately 8,400 square feet of permanent space to our current church facility. The expansion will meet our need for children’s education space, lobby and fellowship space, and adult education space. The total estimated cost of the project including: architectural work, site work, additional parking, a new church entry and the building construction is $1.1 million. As you know, we serve a God with limitless resources who is incredibly faithful, and we truly believe that, “Where God Guides, God Provides”.
We need your prayers and financial support to move forward in this project. Currently, Ridgeview Church is blessed to have zero debt and approximately $332,000 in savings. Our goal and prayer is that God would enable us to raise at least $218,000 over the next 4 months. In addition, we are praying that God would enable financial commitments (pledges) by members and friends of Ridgeview to provide for the balance of the $1.1 million project budget as we move forward, so that we can “break ground” in September of 2010.
We are specifically asking you to prayerfully consider serving and giving, beyond your current service, tithes, and offerings, in one or more of the following ways:
- Commit to regularly pray that God would provide financial resources and bring people to our church with a heart to cheerfully give toward the advancement of the kingdom of God through Ridgeview Church.
- Give a onetime gift to help meet the immediate goal of raising $218,000. If every active adult connected to Ridgeview gave $500 we would more than meet this goal, I realize that some of you can give much more than $500 and some much less, but please consider giving as the Lord enables and leads you.
- Commit to giving a weekly or monthly gift (above and beyond tithes and offerings) to the building fund over the next year. If every family that is actively involved at Ridgeview gave an additional $100 per month that would provide more than $20,000 per month towards the project.
- Being willing to help put together and/or serve at fundraisers that will help meet the financial goals of the project i.e. fundraising dinners, bake sales, silent auctions, or other creative ideas that God might give you.
I look forward to giving you updates and more specific information as we move forward together into this exciting opportunity! Your willingness to pray, serve, and give financially will help us build a new building at Ridgeview Church, build a better bridge to the community, and build up the kingdom of God.
We have set up a Building Fund at Ridgeview Church and 100% of all that is given to that fund will go directly to the project. Checks can be made to Ridgeview Church with “building fund” in the memo. Enclosed is a self addressed envelope for those of you who feel led to give financially at this time and a commitment card for those of you who feel led to pray, serve or give in an ongoing way. Thank you for your continued support of the ministry of Ridgeview Church.
