CHILDREN OF THE WORLD INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S CHOIR:
The Children of the World International Children’s Choir. will be visiting and performing at Ridgeview Church in all services on Saturday and Sunday April 29 and 30. The choir, comprised of orphaned and disadvantaged children from several different countries represents a rich and culturally diverse set of backgrounds and experiences, each with an urgent story to tell. They call attention to the staggering impact that poverty, malnutrition, and dirty water have on millions of children around the world.
Through song, dance, and the spoken word Children of the World provides a compelling message of hope and opportunity, leaving an unforgettable impression of the difficulties faced by so many children and families around the world. Be sure to attend and invite your family members to see, hear, and meet our guests.
Rockwall’s Observance of the National Day of Prayer, on Thursday May 4 at 11:30 AM inside the Rockwall Community Center located at 108 East Washington Street in Rockwall.
Our theme this year is For Your Great Name’s Sake! Hear Us… Forgive Us…Heal Us! It is taken from Daniel 9:19, which says, “O Lord, Listen! O Lord, Forgive! O Lord, Hear and Act! For Your Sake, O My God…” The National Day of Prayer is a time for believers all over the country to rally together and stand in the gap for our nation, communities, schools, churches, and leaders. At this crucial time for our nation, we can do nothing more important than pray. We look forward to seeing God’s hand move across our land in exciting ways in response to our petitions!
Ridgeview Church is excited to offer an additional option for worship on Saturday nights at 6pm. Saturday Night Services will afford an opportunity to those in our community to hear God’s Word, fellowship with other believers, and intentionally advance God’s kingdom.
Last Fall we launched our Saturday Night Service at Ridgeview Church. We have been blessed to see God bring new families into our church through this service and to offer an evening worship service alternative to others.
From the beginning, the vision behind the Saturday night service has been to see more people come to know Christ and “unchurched” people find a place of connection in a local church body.
The Saturday Night Services are at 6pm in our Fellowship Hall with the intention of it being the “Same but Simpler”. What does that mean? It means: interactive teaching in a more intimate and informal setting, acoustic worship, monthly fellowship meals (1st Saturday of each month), and small group prayer opportunities. We also offer children’s ministry, for kids from nursery through 5th grade, on Saturday nights.
Acts 2:42 says that the Early Church, “continued steadfastly in the apostle’s doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers”. As they lived out their faith in this manner, they saw God move in powerful ways in and through His people adding “daily those who were being saved” (Acts 2:47). As we simplify and go a little more “first century church”, we are praying for more of God’s presence and power in our worship service.
We invite you to join us (and invite an unchurched friend or family member) to the “Same But Simpler” Saturday Night Service at 6pm.
THE EXERCISE OF FAITH MAKES FAITH GROW
Are you willing to exercise your faith on a mission trip to Punjab, India from August 9-20? We will have many opportunities to meet Sikh families in their homes. We will share our testimonies, the Gospel, and begin discipleship. Most Sikhs know little about Jesus and have not yet heard His story. We will partner with local believers and interpreters to reach out to these lost sheep. Ask the Lord to overcome whatever obstacles are in your path so you can exercise your faith and go with us. You can do this! Join in on Ridgeview Church’s vision of winning souls for Jesus, making disciples, and being sent out into the Lord’s harvest fields. Please contact Dan Watson at 858-212-3558 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Plan to attend the information meeting after 2nd service on March 12.
