Deacons

Michael Mantilla

Deacon

I have been with my wonderful wife, Wendy, since 2000. We have rescue dogs that we adore and I'm passionate about cooking. In 2001, I was introduced to our Lord and discovered the unspeakable joy of a personal and intimate relationship with Him. I have been walking with Him since that day. I love to call Ridgeview my home away from home. I serve as the Lead Deacon for the church and Deacon of Hospitality. A passage in the Bible that has special meaning to me is Psalm 18:32-34, which says "It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; He causes me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze".

Carl Barnes

Deacon

My name is Carl Barnes. I have been attending Ridgeview Church for 13 years. I have been serving since attending this church. It is a blessing and privilege to serve in Christ’s house. Deacons are the hands and feet that Christ uses in His house to serve His people.

Scott Simants

Deacon

I gave my life to the Lord in the summer of 1977, but really did not start following him until the age of 27. I have been married to my wonderful wife, Janna, for 27 years. We have been blessed with 3 children and 5 grandchildren. We have been attending Ridgeview for the past 6 years and have been involved in VBS, Evening in Bethlehem, and I am also the Deacon for the ushers. I am a servant of the Lord and I am blessed by blessing others. Romans 12:11 says “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”  I desire in each day I awake from sleep for God to change me from within according to HIS WILL and not mine, therefore, my life scripture is, Psalms 139: 23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.”

Rod Rodriguez

Deacon

I have been a member of Ridgeview since 2010. Over the years, I have enjoyed leading classes on 1 Corinthians, Romans, Ephesians, John, Colossians, Revelation and others. I was affirmed as a Deacon 2015. My wife, Mary, and I lead Ridgeview’s Altar Ministry. My hobbies are motorcycles, building and flying model airplanes, fishing and hunting! My lifetime passage is I Cor 15:1-4!

Ashton Jordan

Deacon

My wife Jen and I are Texas transplants. We moved here in 2014, and have been attending Ridgeview since 2015. Having four daughters, I am a girl dad through and through. When I’m not supporting my girls at a dance competition, I enjoy being here, serving in multiple ministries alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ. I am currently serving as Deacon of Media. Our goal with media ministry is to share God’s word with as many as possible - through various social media platforms - thus furthering our mission to win, disciple, and send.
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.” Romans 8:38.

Aaron Gonzalez

Deacon

I have been married to my amazing wife, Jessica Gonzalez, since 2009. We have two active boys, Carter and Tanner, and we live here in Rockwall. We have been attending and serving at Ridgeview church since 2016. I play drums and guitar on the worship team, and we serve in various other ministries as well. I have worked in the health care field for nearly 15 years where I have worked on many different levels of the Fire and EMS industry. My passion is for missions, as well as the unreached people in our community. I enjoy working with the Nathaneal Project doing missions work in Kenya Africa, as well as the Time or Revive group, going out, and sharing the Gospel.
